Neighborhood

Even though Eureka has a total area of only 14.5 square miles, it has a lot going on. Eureka is the largest coastal city between San Francisco and Portland, and is the location of the largest deep-water port between San Francisco and Coos Bay, a stretch of about 500 miles (800 km). Town House Motel’s central location makes it easy to explore famous attractions, local hangouts and can’t-miss events.

Historic Old Town & Downtown Eureka

We’re a fixture in The Historic Old Town neighborhood, which is filled withvictorian buildings, Humboldt Bay waterfront/boardwalk, restaurants, bars, shops, theatres and lively people. Stop by the Café Waterfront for fresh seafood, five eleven lounge for drinks, orLiving the Dream for a unique organic ice cream experience. Here you’ll find numerous 60s-inspired shops and activities that’ll take you through a trippy time warp.

Take in a classic architecture experience at the Carson Mansion, Pink Lady, or the recently restored Carson Block filled with shops, restaurants and other attractions. Enjoy the many festivals the neighborhood hosts annually including the Redwood Coast Music Festival, Rhododendron Festival & Parade, Kinetic Sculpture Race, and the monthly festival of Arts Alive, many of which can be fully enjoyed within walking distance.

Downtown Eureka

Downtown Eureka is a quaint but vibrant area where you can enjoy the small town experience without going very far.

If you’re not looking to walk more than a few steps, stop by the acclaimed AA Bar & Grill located in the same building as the Town House Motel. They are rated #1 for steaks on many major popular rating sites. Don’t forget to walk three blocks down to the Lost Coast Brewery for the ultimate micro-brewery experience (a popular choice by many of our guests).

For the arts lovers, take a walk to the NorthCoast Reparatory Theatre (NCRT)which currently produces six main stage productions per year as well as a variety of second stage performances. If the NCRT wasn’t enough, you can walk to the Arkley Center for the Performing arts where guests can enjoy symphonies, dance performances and musical plays year round.

Tons of transit

THM is just steps away from the bus, both local (Eureka Transit Authority) and long distance (Amtrak & Greyhound). Lucky for you, UBER can give you quick access to all the hot spots in and out of Eureka. It’s fast and convenient for you to get around Eureka and the Humboldt County area by staying at the Town House Motel in Eureka.
